Over the years, Emma has trained and competed with her own dogs in various dog sports. With her chocolate Labrador Baxter she achieved his Level 5 rally obedience title, achieved high scores in working trials, and competed in gundog working tests. She also showed Baxter at both open and championship level shows. With her show-bred Labrador Elsie, Emma has competed in gundog working tests, achieved her level 6 title in rally obedience and has been awarded the Kennel Club's Working Gundog Certificate. She has shown at the Kennel Club's Open and Championship Shows, with Elsie gaining a RBCC and her stud book number.
Springer Spaniel Pip, like Elsie, has competed in gundog working tests and achieved the Kennel Club Working Gundog Certificate. Pip has also competed in agility, has his novice dog parkour title with the IDPKA and his level 1 award with Dog Parkour UK. Has also won Scentwork UK online trials.
Along with Pip, Emma's other show-bred Labradors, Pure and Ursula, are working their way up through the gundog graded field tests offered by The Gundog Club. Prue currently has her Grade 3 Award.
Emma has also competed in Agility, Hoopers and Rally Obedience events with Prue achieving her Level 2 title so far. Prue has also been shown at Championship Level, and has been awarded her stud book number and two Challenge Certificates.
Her youngest Labrador Ursula, has just achieved her Scentwork Level 1 Excellent Award, and is now competing in Level 2 Competitions. Ursula enjoys training for hoopers, and is shown at championship Level. She has multiple placings and has qualified for Crufts '22, and '23.
Although Emma is proud of all her dogs' achievements, they are first and foremost family pets who live happily and comfortably in her home. Their needs, enjoyment of all they partake in, is of upmost priority.
Over the last decade, Emma has been teaching puppy and adult dog training classes and offering one-to-one training sessions and behavioural consultations. This has given her extensive experience and a thorough understanding of how to work with a diverse range of dog breeds and personality types.
Working with Dogs Trust and some smaller, independent dog charities, Emma has helped many rescue dogs who now live better lives thanks to the support, knowledge and practical skills she has provided to their owners. Close connection with veterinary professionals also means that Emma regularly takes clients on via vet referrals. She also has experience as an expert witness for court cases involving dogs and has assessed dogs on behalf of social services.
