We run agility classes over the spring, summer and autumn months at our training barn near Newtown.
In our classes, we teach the navigation of the equipment and drive, forward focus, independence, and resilience. We look at teaching warm-up, and cooldowns and being a certified canine fitness trainer also means that our classes cover canine fitness and conditioning.
We teach dogs to jump efficiently and safely, using a range of jump grids and can teach you to be able to analyse your own dogs jumping style and improve it if necessary.
Most people's first view of agility comes from the coverage of Crufts each year and the dog agility competitions held in December in conjunction with Olympia Horse Show. However, more than 300 licensed agility shows are held annually, not to mention the numerous special sponsored events that occur nationwide. Local agility shows are held in Shrewsbury and Oswestry, which makes this dog sport easily accessible to all.
Emma is an Agility Club Accredited Instructor and competes in agility with her Springer Spaniel Pip and Labrador Prue. Pip has gained first, second and third placings in non-affiliated shows and has good placings in grade 1-3 jumping and agility classes at Kennel Club Shows.
Your dog does not have to be a pedigree dog to participate in Kennel Club shows, but it must be registered with the Kennel Club on either the Breed Register or the Activity Register. We can help you with this.
